Our Principal

Courtney Washington was named the new principal at Cedar Hill High School on July 21, 2025.

Washington, who has worked in education for 28 years, has 24 years of experience as a campus administrator. Her first assistant principal assignment was at Sam Houston Middle School in Irving ISD where she was a Title I Sixth Grade Assistant Principal.

For 19 years, Washington was a campus administrator in Plano ISD – at the elementary, middle and high school levels. Her high school assignment was at Shepton High School where she served as principal from 2023-2025.

Throughout the years, Washington served on multiple boards and committees in both Irving ISD and Plano ISD.

Washington earned a Master’s Degree in Educational Administration from the University of North Texas and a Bachelor’s Degree in Biology/Pre-Medicine from Grambling State University, graduating Magna Cum Laude in 1995.

Washington is a life member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Inc. and served as the Vice President of the Tau Rho Omega Chapter. She’s on the board of the Women of Pearls Community Action Foundation and a deaconess, choir member and women’s auxiliary member of the Ben Washington Baptist Church in Irving.
