About Me:

This is the beginning of my 9th year as an educator. I spent the first four years as an Elementary Music and Computer teacher at a small private school, the next two years as the Building Assistant and Fine Arts Director for an Early College High School, two years as the Theatre Director at Bessie Coleman Middle School and now Cedar Hill High School!

I have been a part of the DFW theatre community for over 25 years, serving as a director, choreographer, and performing artist. I have been featured in the Dallas Stars Education promo video, Ron Clark Academy Club RCA promo video, Title Boxing website and participated in a Dallas Cowboys halftime.

As learners become involved in theatre, they extend their abilities to communicate. Theatre content becomes a stimulus for cognitive development through problem solving and creative thinking. As students perceive, comprehend, imagine, and evaluate, they develop interpretive, analytical, and critical thinking skills. Integrating theatre knowledge and skills also helps learners' development and enhances their critical thinking abilities.

“Life is like a play; it’s not the length but the excellence of the acting that matter.” I believe that every scholar not only has a story to bring to the classroom but has a story to tell the world. In our classroom it’s not about being the best but bringing your best and we promote unity in our differences. I look forward to seeing the scholars flex their creativity muscles and make meaningful theatre.  Humbled and blessed for this opportunity to serve as the Assistant Theatre Director here at Cedar Hill High School, where “It’s always a Great Day to Be a Longhorn!"
