Degrees and Certifications:

I hold a PHD degree in education from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, and certifications in the teaching of Spanish, bilingual education, and in English as a second language.

Dr. Raul Clarke

I studied in Costa Rica, attended Union College in Lincoln Nebraska, then went to the University of Nebraska-Lincoln where I earned a PHD degree in Education. I have been a teacher for several years and have taught in different countries in Latin America and the Caribbean.  This will be my seventh year of teaching Spanish here at Cedar Hill ISD.  My desire for all scholars is that their appreciation for the Spanish language will increase and provide them with a better understanding of the Spanish culture and the Spanish speaking people of the world.

I teach Spanish 1 classes mainly to nineth graders, and AP Spanish Language and Culture and Spanish Literature to Spanish Speaking learners.

You may contact me by email (raul.clarke@chisd.net) and when in class I will respond within 24-48 business hours.

Most assignments are in Schoology, but some will also be written to be completed during class time.  There will also be some assignments where the student will need to memorize vocabulary and phrases which will then be assessed verbally by the teacher.

Grades will be posted in Skyward and I suggest that you check Skyward regularly to ensure the completion of assignments and the progress of your scholar in class.
